I couldn't be more thrilled to be guest designing over at Pebbles Inc. today and have lots of fun projects I've been waiting to share with you, so let's get to it!! The colors are just great and I had a ball putting these projects together, enjoy!

I'm a big time sucker for kraft cardstock so I was thrilled to find it along with tons of other fantastic goodies just ripe for the scrapping! Capturing the special moments of celebrating my daughter's 1st birthday I put this layout together using papers in the Everafter Collection. The color combination hit me just right and I couldn't be happier with how this layout turned out.

My fridge has been desperate for a major picture update and the stars finally lined up for me to get it done. Summer has been so busy but has also provided some great photo opportunities for my fridge overhaul. I found these frames at my local dollar store (perfect for this thrifty girl!) and knew they were raging with potential. A few layers for the base along with lots of embellishments on the outside of the frame and waaahhlaa! Keeping the score even we have a girl version and a boy version to share today. The blues and greens in the Floral Lane and Everafter Collections ended up working out just right to capture the spirit of my little boy.

When I sat down to put a card together I was envisioning something with a few more bells and whistles but the papers in the Floral Lane Collection are gorgeous enough without alot of extra frills. A few cuts using my Cricut, a little sewing around the border, and a quick rub-on made this card fast, easy and fun!

Making Memories Guest Designer!

Doing a little Guest Designing over at Making Memories today and I couldn't be more excited. So grateful for the chance to put a little project together and share it with the world! Up today is a fun mini I put together of none other than my little diva. She is sweet, sassy, and 100% in control of my every move, yep we like to call it "high maintenance." Don't get me wrong I love her to pieces, but some days it takes all I have to make it until her daddy gets home and I can hand her over at 5 o'clock! Fortunately she is adorable (at least we think so) and Pretty In Pink!

One of my favorite projects to create is mini albums, you might say I'm in love with these wonderful little things. I find it a great way to document different time frames in my children's lives or small events with too many photos to document on a single layout. Gathering various patterned papers from past and present Making Memories collections I put together a variety of items girly enough to show off the sassy attitude of my baby girl. Even though the products I used came from various collections they went together wonderfully along with the many embellishments from Making Memories from my endless stash! Enjoy!

Checking in today with a little home decor inspiration for you! Lately I've come to the conclusion that my lovely scrap room, which is 100% my space (minus the toys that seem to make their way in) and has been for the better part of 2 years, will probably become a bedroom for my son before I get it decorated the way I've fancied it to be. So, I'm working on it, slowly, one piece of decor at a time....hence the "Dare to Dream" frame! I wanted a retro/vintage look, what do you think? I had to dust my Cricut off for this one:-)

We're off for a little getaway! The forecast looks just right for a week at the beach, can you say 98 degrees? Woohoo, bring it on! Chow!

Happy Memorial Weekend everyone! We're off to the lake this morning to share the long weekend with my parents. It's been wet and rainy all week so the rain/mud boots are packed and ready to go (best investment ever by the way:-) Not sure if I have confessed this before but I despise, no seriously despise scrapping holiday pictures. For some reason I get all railroaded in my mind that it will look just like last's years Christmas, Halloween, etc. Total mind thing going on here, kind of like when I go shopping for a new outfit for church, I like to play it safe and end up buying the same thing (black) over and over! This layout might be different though.... These pictures have been on my desk since, oh, last November just asking to be put on paper and I feel like I finally conquered my complex and really like how it turned out?!? Life is good...enjoy your weekend!

We're back! Our trip to Europe was wonderful, much needed, and full of memories we won't ever forget. It's definitely given me back my travel bug so needless to say I'm mentally planning our next trip, maybe a beach vacation...we'll have to see! After being away from my scrap desk I'm longing for time to sit and scrap, absence makes the heart grow fonder! Here's a layout I finished up right before we left. A New Obsession

Recently I've conquered a lengthy battle, the ability to crochet! Several times in the past I've tried to teach myself this delusional craft. I've bought all the books the hooks the yarn and failed miserably with every attempt, until now! Although I didn't end up teaching myself (my sister who taught herself taught me!) I have mastered it and have been addicted since! We have more new hats in our house than any family could possibly need so I've moved onto something else, play food! My kids love their little kitchen so this was a no brainer for me, indestructable food, what could be better?

And of course a hot dog! Ross told me it looks like a peanut, hmmm. Oh well!

I thought I would share at least one hat too, isn't he adorable?

Next on my list are some hats for charity and then a pizza and lasagna set complete with pans! Sometimes all this crocheting seems a little ridiculous, dorky maybe, but it's fun, it keeps my hands busy and makes my heart happy. That's what matters right?

Bubble Snakes!

We're suffering from a serious case of winter naughtyness at our house. It's time for spring, time for my 3 year old to burn some serious energy outside....so much so that he has none left to be whiny, destructive, or mean to his sister! Trying to deter the tantrums and tears today I pulled out a crafty idea I've been wanting to try for a while, bubble snakes! They were a serious hit and both my kids loved it! The idea came from a site I follow regularly called How Does She dot com and the details can be found here! Not only were the bubbles a hit but the soapy floor became an indoor slip and slide and the bottle turned into the perfect Captain Hook arm afterwards!

All it takes is a rubber band, water/pop bottle with the bottom cut off, a small piece of cloth and some dish soap....

Ms. K was all about getting her fair share of the bubbles:-)

It doesn't take much soap...

Pumpkinland 2010

Back today to share another layout I put together using some Pink Paislee Hometown goodies. I love the red/blue circled paper and broke up the pattern by adding some smaller yellow circles throughout, I have to admit I love how it turned out! All the stickers are from Echo Park. Heading to Pumpkinland is an annual fall tradition of ours and this layout captures Ross' memories from 2010. Not much else for today, I'm busy crocheting cupcakes for my kid's kitchen, I'll share pics soon! Ymmm!!

Hey all! Sharing a layout I put together for the CHA reveal party at my local scrapbook store, A Walk Down Memory Lane. This line, Hometown, from Pink Paislee is an unexpected favorite of mine from this winter's new releases! It reminds me alot of Cosmo Cricket or October Afternoon and was super fun to work with. I paired it with a some fun paper from Echo Park for that perfect touch!

This month at Creative Scrappers we have a wonderful sponsor who graciously gave all of us designers a handy little tool to try out. I have to admit when I first opened up my package I wasn't sure how this tool would be of benefit to me. I mean I have a Cricut and about a million punches what would I need a circle cutter for? Then I put it to use, and was beyond pleased! The first time I used it and didn't want to get out of my chair to walk to my Cricut to cut my 10 inch circle so I decided to give my Kreaxions Circle Cutter a whirl. I love that it's small and handy and quick. I didn't have to plug it in, find a mat with any sticky left on it, or get out of my chair:-) Here's my take on Sketch 142, happy Sunday!

Tulips...and ink!

Happy February! Well things are back in motion for our little part of the world, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that's the last of the storms for this winter season, ok maybe keeping my fingers and my feet, and my eyes crossed that it's the last of the storms for this winter! I can dream right? Anywho, I have actually had the time to scrap just for fun over the last week, can't believe it myself. Here's a layout I had in the works to submit for Scrapbook & Cards Today magazine, needless to say I missed the deadline but went ahead with it anyway. It was nice to get back to creating because I can, and it helped that my mojo came back from vacation too:-)

Ok here's the "ink" part of my post for today...Commandment #11...Thou shall not leave thy 3 year old alone with access to red ink pads...yes I about had a heart attack when he ventured up the steps proud as a peacock about his "masterpiece." I had a million visions about where the rest of this wonderful red might be (carpet, furniture, you name it...) during my 13 steps down into the basement. Luckily most of his creation was contained to himself, washable items, and trash. Aaahh..lesson learned for today:-)

Greetings scrappers! Hope your Sunday is full of blessings and that you are looking forward to a week full of great things! I woke up to a wonderful -16 degrees today, it was a definite thought process to hop into the shower and get my two kiddos ready for church by myself with that on my mind. What I really wanted to do is to stay in my cozy warm pink robe and get lost in the blog world, but now that I did it it feels great. My husband is away visiting a friend down in Kansas, sucker... Being a single parent for 4 days is slightly over-rated if you asked me, I commend all single parents out there, you rock, me, not so much... So here's my take on the sketch for the week, at this point I'm reminding myself this little stubborn boy is cute most of the time, just not today when he had his favorite dinosaurs thrown in the "trash" because he can't obey the bathroom rules. They aren't really in the trash, but he doesn't need to know that, k?

Next on the list for today is finishing up some submits for Scrapbook Trends I've been putting off and then I think we'll be dialing up grandma's and inviting ourselves over for supper, that's what grandma's are for right? I love you mom!!!

Merry Christmas everyone! Hope you are enjoying time with your family, making lots of memories, taking lots of pictures of course, and most importantly remembering the true meaning of Christmas! I absolutely love this weeks sketch from the lovely Michelle Fowler, she is going to be back for another term at Creative Scrappers which is wonderful, she never disappoints! I actually flipped the sketch 90 degrees to the left this week and proceeded from there. That's what I love about sketches, they provide a guideline and the rest is really up to you! Enjoy!

Love how these papers work to be classic and vintage-like together, just the look I was going for. While I love the red and green of Christmas I prefer the worn look a little more.

A Christmas Card!

After about a month of deliberation, I have officially ordered Christmas cards. Honestly the thought of trying to get my two children to take a picture worthy of sending to others was overwhelming me, but so was the guilt of not sending out a card. So I did what every mother does and put on my big girl pants, wiped their snotty noses, set up my back-drop and went in for the kill. I got 6 pictures before the little goof-balls broke lose, thankfully the first one was a winner. Merry Christmas from my family to yours!

Wowsers! We've officially welcomed winter into our cozy little town this weekend. Smack-dab right between the eyes is where the wonderful weekend blizzard hit us that left us all stranded in our homes, forced to break-out the Christmas tunes and enjoy our families. I got caught up on some final holiday tasks, sewed a blanket for my daughter, watched half a dozen movies or so, and relaxed while the world outside me blew by. I have to admit I love a good snow storm but on the same hand I also had a case of cabin fever by noon today:-)

Greetings from my crazy little corner of madness! I've obviously been neglecting this blog of mine, but for good reason. Life at our house has been tipped upside-down, shaken, shaken some more, and now I think we're finally screeching to a halt and back on our feet. It's hard to be an organized person in an unpredictable world (especially with two little ones in your home) but I think we're back on track, at least for today:-) Unfortunately when life gets crazy at my house, scrapping and my blog take the back seat, sorry! Hope you understand, my family comes first, always, I'm sure you can relate:-) So for now, let's do some catchin' up!

When I got this little chest of drawers in my box full of design team goodies I couldn’t have been more thrilled and I instantly knew what purpose I would have for it. As some of you know I have a new baby girl in my house who is just starting to get enough hair to hold a barette. Happy Halloween! Back today with a super fun sketch from Creative Scrappers! We took our little animals out on the town for a few trick-or-treating stops last night, man did Mr. R catch on fast to the concept of filling his little bucket full of chocolate goodness:-) Unfortunately my little lion lost his courage when a man answered the door in a scary mask. Time for another challenge at Papercraft Star. On tabs this week is a beautiful photo challenge. There is something about this picture that makes me happy. To tell you the truth, I'd like to be sitting at that table feeling like royalty because more than likely that means someone else is watching my kids (at least for a little while) and doing my laundry, I can dream right?

I used some leftover goodies to make my card in record time. My scrapping personality doesn't include speedy anywhere in my resume, I like to marinate on things but this just worked with no hesitations, gotta love days like that.

Bringing Home Baby

You may remember from previous posts that my sister and her husband welcomed twin babies into their home about a month ago. They are the cutest babies ever and so content. Amazing to see their similarities even though they are not identical. Ellie is a little more roudy than her counterpart Benjamin, but man are they a gift! I put a little momento together for them to remember this special time! Envelope books seem to be an obsession for me right now, guess I like that they are cheap and easy to put together! Enjoy!

A few weeks ago I spent the weekend with my scrap gals tucked away in a fabulous craft retreat up on a lake in Minnesota. The weather was beautiful, the leaves were beginning to fall, and the view of the lake from my chair refreshing. It's always fun to get away, and to scrap while your at it. Unfortunately I did not bring along enough projects to keep me busy all weekemd! I've had these pictures of Ross and Katie for a while, patiently waiting to be scrapped. He is such a great helper when it comes to his little sister, I am so fortunate that they both adore each other! I've been away all weekend and man did I miss these two (and my husband) like crazy! I just happened to have been to the Grand Canyon so this turned out to be perfect! Nothing fancy about this layout but I do like the grays and blacks, just works in it's own way. Greetings! What a crazy week at our house! Here's my week in a nutshell, sinus infection leaving me feeling like poo, water in the basement, potty training boot camp, welcoming Baby Ben and Baby Ellie into our family, 1 EXTREMELY fantastic Usborne show, short staffed at work, a trip to the pumpkin patch, and scrambling to keep my head above water, literally! We had a message on our answering machine tonight calling for sandbaggers at the river tonight, so much damage from all the rain this week. Sometimes I wonder why I take on so much, but then I remember it's my nature and I have no desire to sit and watch the world go by, I'd rather participate! Unfortunately sometimes that leaves me where I am today, overwhelmed! We go on a huge scrap retreat next weekend and I'm really looking forward to getting some assignments done so I can breathe a little easier when I get back but that also means getting my rear in organization mode, how does one pack up an entire scraproom and take it 250 miles away? Leaving you with a layout today of Ms. K. She was my little beach buddy this summer, always a good sport enjoying being wherever we take her. This color combo really caught my eye, just love the green/gray/pink and little tid-bits of yellow. Have a great rest of your weekend everybody!

Score Mat 5 times at 1/4 inch (mine is a little hard to see, but I scored under my flowers vertically)

I used my circle punches to help me make these spiral flowers. Following the recipe I added my buttons as the base of my flowers and finished off the stems with the twine!

Good morning scrappers! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Our weekend was jam-packed with a friend's wedding, an outing to the Apple Orchard, church, family time playing games, and a little scrapping. We are anticipating the arrival of two very special and long awaited little people in our family this week! My sister is finally going to experience mommyhood and I couldn't be happier for her and her husband, they deserve it! I just love the warm colors in this photo and now that the weather has cooled a bit that cup just might inspire me to break out the hot chocolate...mmmm. Five Months

So my little girl is almost 7 months and I find myself wondering where did time go? Seems like yesterday we were nursing her back to health after her RSV/pneumonia scare when she was two weeks old. Crazy how fast time goes, even crazier how much children change your lives. This layout is of her at 5 months old. She was just starting to sit up, roll over with ease, laugh from her belly, crave her brothers attention, and smile on demand. She is a little round ball of love, sweet as ever.

Papercraft Star Challenge 11

Challenge #11 is up and running over at Papercraft Star challenge blog. The challenge for this week is to create a back to school project using your Cricut or other diecuts. I saw an apple similar to the one I created in one of my favorite scrappy magazines about a month ago and gave it a try for myself. I changed my Cricut settings to cut every 1/10th of an inch instead of 1/4 and then cut out 8-9 layers for my apple all 1/10 inch apart in size. Setting it apart from the main cover I threw in a three layer star using the same settings. The little (maybe not so little anymore) guys in this book are my nephews. The youngest one Colin finally got to head out with the "big guys" and started Pre-school last week, he's so excited. Rumor has it that his previous daycare provider misses him more than his parents do, ha ha.

Got a chance to play around with some amazingly fun stuff from My Minds Eye this week. Their new Alphabet Soup line is just adorable, so cute you don't want to cut it up:-) I particularly like the chipboard pieces they put out with these lines (there is a girl and boy version in this collection), such great shapes and colors. Papercraft Star Challenge #10

Hard to believe were already hosting Challenge #10 at Papercraft Star. This week's challenge is a simple sketch that could be used for either a layout or a card. Some new Cosmo Cricket goodies came my way recently and so I used a new flower technique I learned from the Kaiser girls and whipped up a couple ridiculously easy flowers, added some buttons, a quick rub-on and whaalaah! Just love the sketch and the purple, smooch! If you haven't already joined us for a challenge at Papercraft Star this is the week to test the waters and come join us! Create Wood Blocks-Kaisercraft

Back today sharing another woodblock set I made for Kaiser (you might be familiar with these). I used scrap 2×4 boards left over from a recent basement remodel project, I had the edges sanded for a clean look and feel (thank goodness for dads right?). The first step was to paint the blocks with Kaisercraft Antique White paint, applying 2 coats. Next I chose and arranged my patterned papers in a way that suited my taste. Using Mod Podge I adhered papers to the blocks, sanding extra off loose edges of paper. I cut all my letters and diecuts using my Cricut, applying them last and embellishing with Kaisercraft Pearls-Latte.

Hunting Diva & Saturday Sketch

More Kaiser projects to share with you today. It's been a crazy week around here! Glad the weekend is here:-) I'm going to see Eat, Love, Pray tonight with some of my in-laws and I can't wait! Julia Roberts is one of my favorites. My first layout is done using the new Secret Bird Society Collection. My sister's husband has this picture on his facebook page and I nabbed it for this layout, it works just perfectly with these papers. My baby sister means the world to me! She's expecting twins, is 32 weeks along, and has been consistently contracting for about a week. So, if you can spare a couple extra prayers to the Big Guy, please send some up in her honor, these babies need a couple weeks before they're really ready to be here.

Next up is my Saturday Sketch August #5 project. We took a trip to the Sertoma Butterfly House back in May and those pictures worked perfectly for this sketch. I combined the Hippy Girl (purple) and Secret Bird Society lines this time around.

Hippy Girl- Kaisercraft

Introducing an August debut from Kaisercraft, Hippy Girl! The deep tropical colors of this line caught my fancy right away and putting together my assignments was a chore, or maybe not! I have been wanting to put together a brag book for my mom, just a little something girly since the previous books on her shelf are all boy oriented, she's enjoying pink as much as I am:-) I started with the long ticket album and painted it with Kaisercraft's Sea Breeze (teal) paint. After letting it dry I lightly sanded just a hint of the paint off, enough to give it a worn look. The other special thing I enjoyed about his book is these flowers. Now I'm not much of a flower girl, in real life or in my scrapbook tastes but I knew I needed something more to add. I made these flowers by cutting 12-16 triangles out on my Cricut. Next I rolled both ends of the base of the triangle in towards the middle, glued and pressed the ends together and then put them all together to form a flower. I will admit it was a time consuming process but it gave me a flower without being too frilly and a flower that lays somewhat flat for this type of book. What do you think?

My second project for today is a layout I put together about my little Ms. Kate rolling over for the first time. She was proud as a peacock! Hard to believe she's almost 6 months!

It's time for another fabulous picture challenge over at Papercraft Star this week. I just adore the colors in this picture, makes me think of fall, oh how ready I am for fall! I love summer but the thrill of 90 degrees and 110% humidity is gone, long gone. Good thing we don't have long to wait, only a few more short weeks until we can open the windows and enjoy the fresh fall air, can't wait!!! Ok, back to the challenge. I re-vamped a previous layout of Ross' first time playing in the leaves, oh how chubby he was! The Fourth of July is a busy holiday for us, right up there with Christmas it seems. Usually there is more going on than there are hours in the day but we enjoy it none the less, jam-packed or not. It's become tradition to watch fireworks at some point during the festivities, seems every small town has a show of their own around here so these are pretty hard to miss! Other than that it's a birthday celebration for grandma, a parade, lunch in the park, flea markets, craft fairs, or time at the lake that seems to capture our attention. I fell in love with the soft red, white, and blue hues of Cosmo Cricket's new line "Togetherness." The fact that it fit my color scheme but didn't scream "I'm holiday paper" is just bliss for me!

I borrowed a friends new punches for this layout, big mistake! Now I want them soooo bad. Money tree, money tree, where art thou money tree?

Happy Friday everyone! Hope you are anticipating the weekend and have something super fun planned! Buttons, Bows, and Bling!!! Challenge # 8

This challenge for Papercraft Star was a blast! I put together some lollipop button flowers and oh how fun they were. My little guy actually tried to lick them like a sucker, boy was he disappointed, no sugar here! This is so easy! All you need is some buttons in the colors of your choice, floral wire (I used 20 guage white), a little pot of your choice, floral foam, and embellies to finish off. Stack your buttons on your wire, about half way down. Bend the top half of your wire down and loop through the opposite button hole. Twist wire together to hold buttons in place and whaaalaaah!

Show us what you've got! Create a project using the 3 B's and upload it to Papercraft Star for a chance to play along! Hope to see ya there!

Kaisercraft Tuesday Tips!

Dressing up chipboard is a fast, convenient and easy way to get the most mileage out of your chipboard products while giving each piece it’s own character. There are countless ways to add dimension, color, and creativity to your chipboard and today we’re going to touch base on a few!

1. Get creative with your stamps. Kaisercraft’s new texture stamps are perfect for this kind of project. Go crazy and stamp multiple colors for an even bolder look.

2. Mist, spritz, spray it!

3. Coordinate your chipboard pieces with your page using patterned paper or cardstock. Sanding the rough paper edges off with a file or sandpaper to get a nice clean look.

4. Dry emboss.

Last but not least, try using multiple techniques on the same project piece.

1. Paint piece in a coordinating color.

2. Dry emboss.

3. Sand over raised pattern to remove paint allowing natural chipboard color to come through.

Papercraft Star Challenge #7

Top of the morning to ya! It's the start of my weekend today and I couldn't be happier. I have lots of scrappy things on the "to-do" list and I'm sure hoping my little ones let me get it done! This weeks challenge over at Papercraft Star (who happens to have gotten a new FANTASTIC blog makeover!) is a photo inspiration challenge. Immediately I was drawn to the lion in the picture and used that as my project for the week, a Congratulations card. Perfect for the next baby or babies (Amy are you reading this?) that come into my life. To make the lions mane, I cut two asterisks out using my Cricut and then trimmed each arm of the asterisk into three sections, curled slightly up with a round edged tool and whaa-laah!

Soaked! Bo Bunny

Wet and wild, that's how our once quiet afternoon of camping turned out! I have 3 nephews who happen to be filled with an abundance of energy and an inherited gene called "full-of-the-dickens." Not sure if that's a local dutch word for naughty or if you understand what I mean, but what started with a little water in a bucket from the faucet turned into a full fledged, take-cover, we hold no prisioners, water fight! Now, I'm no sissy or prissy girl but getting wet without warning is not my thing so I grabbed my camera and used it as my shield, you know nobody messes with my camera, ha ha! Anyway I got some really fun shots of the festivities, so fun to be together as a family, just enjoying the little things like a summer water fight.

Hawaii, oh Hawaii where art thou? Can you tell I'd love to go back? My hubby and I honeymoon 4 1/2 years ago in Hawaii and love every second of our stay. It is truly paradise, no doubt. We've talked about heading back for our 5 year anniversary, we'll have to see:-) Each month at Kaisercraft we are responsible for one Beyond The Page item and for this month I chose to use the Long Ticket Album. Tickets are all the rage at the moment and this book does not disappoint, great quality, perfect size for my liking. Catch of the Day

Greetings scrappers! Little sleepy here today, up too late stalking CHA goodies and such I guess:-) Sharing a layout I just finished up, and I love it! I don't say that too often but I'm completely satisfied with how this one turned out. I have a secret confession, I was so excited to have a baby girl to scrap for but I just cannot seem to find my groove using girl stuff! Maybe my eye is just trained to scrap with testosterone? Whatever it is I need to cure it, fast, I'm falling behind in her book while my little guy is completely caught up. Anyway back to the layout, I just love the mixture of greens and blues. I had a friend (who happens to also be my best critic, scrapping companion, mom who can relate to having small ones, bestie!) stop by while I was working on this and she commented that although she would never automatically choose the color combo, she liked it. It feels good to be validated, even when it comes to scrappin'.

We have a wonderful campground in our town with a huge beautiful beach for the kids to enjoy. So back in June I swapped daughers with my "bestie" and took the big kids out to burn up some energy (don't you just love when they run so hard they have no choice but to take a nap and give you some peace and quiet?). Now, remember I told you this beach is huge. I parked my chair at the east end of the beach and let them run, which of course was to the complete other end. I could see from where I was that they were "collecting" something in their buckets but wasn't real worried about it, they're busy and leaving me along, right? Well finally they made their way back to show me their treasures....a bucket 1/2 full of little DEAD FISH & TADPOLES!! Gasp!, swallow hard, that's disgusting! What do I do, what do I do? Let them play, that's what I do. The damage is done, the germs have allready infested their little paws. They had a blast while I sat cringing hoping no other parent looked at me in disgust. Needless to say we had a good ole' fashion hand cleansing before snack time! Oh how we love summer!

Coming at you today with some Lush goodness from Kasier. I was delighted to find this collection had some wonderful papers that would work for boy layouts. I have a new obsession with the color gray, and there just happened to be two charcoal papers for me to play with, ahhh, bliss! Ever since Ross was a baby I've been wanting to put together a layout of the things I promise him as his mom. I finally got to put that list and layout together, even had a few tears in the process. For me there is nothing more dear to me than my family and when I sit down and think about the gift God has entrusted to me, it overwhelms me.

He's finally big enough to do the rides by himself, I hope he had more fun than his face shows.

Altered Canvas- Papercraft Star Challenge #5

Circles, Circles, and more Circles!! That's the name of the game this week over at Papercraft Star challenge blog. I've been wanting to get a few things up on the walls in my scraproom and this was a perfect challenge to help me get it done. I love this verse from Ecclesiastes, just a gentle reminder for myself that God is truly in control and when things seem impossible I rely on His promises! I used a basic canvas available at your local craft store for my base. Taking light yellow acrylic paint and a touch of water I painted the canvas (adding the water allows more of the white background to show through for a softer feel) and then decorated using my Cricut and punches. I made my "grass" by cutting thin strips of paper and rolling them up on a pencil, attaching them in a random pattern with scrappy glue. Ouch!

Occasionally I stumble upon an inspiration that catches my eye and inspires me greatly. This past week my brain has been on a little overload so I decided to do something I occasionally do when the mojo is lacking and the layout is purely for my enjoyment and not work, scraplift. My little guy took a huge nose dive onto the pavement about a month ago and wound up with a huge road rash on his forehead, ouch! Although it's healed now he is going to have a nice scar for a while, memories right?

I really loved the colors and simplicity of this layout by Denise, she aced this layout. To get my "stitching" done to my liking I switched my settings to metric on my Cricut and cut circles 1/10th inch larger than the one I was using for the layout. Then I traced with my white gel pen to get nice clean lines.

Happy Monday everyone! Hope your weekend was pleasant! It was horribly hot and humid here in little Iowa this weekend, a recipe for thunderstorms and frizzy hair, ick! Been working on some design work for my LSS and wanted to create some simple cards that could be put together quickly. I am not typically a huge sticker person (something about 3D that floats my boat) but wanted to challenge myself using the Walk in the Park line from Echo Park. They are a fairly new company and have a new release coming out at Summer CHA that I am dying to get my hands on, check it out here. These cards are nothing fancy and I'm Ok with that for a change:-)

The Embellished Paper Doily- My Version

So I've been diligently working on lots of projects around here the last few weeks and it's time to start sharing what's up! If you haven't seen the Embellished Paper Doily tutorial by Christine Middlecamp then let me highly suggest you check it out. Amazing, simply amazing! I immediately fell in love with this project and added it to my ever expanding "to-do" list. Instead of using a shadow box I picked up a 7-Gypsies Printer Tray to use as my display. Using an all about "me" concept, I copied some of the doilies Christine did pretty close and others I made all my own. This was a really fun project and I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to snag some more of these Martha Stewart Doilies tomorrow at work, so very awesome!

Happy Saturday everyone! Today I'm sharing a simple way to build up your card stash quickly! Every once

in a while I find a design that I am particularly drawn to. When this happens, especially on a card, I like to take advantage of it and duplicate that design several times. It's fun to see how the exact same design looks different when different products and sentiments are used. It's a great way to get my "stash" built up without too much brain power! So I've fallen, fallen HARD! for these wonderful papers from The Girls' Paperie. Ymmmm! I just can't get enough (they have some super embellies to compliment this line too!) I wanted a soft feel to my layout about Katie's recent baptism and this line just worked perfect. Once again I used a block style layout to capture these precious memories. For some reason I am frequently drawn to block style, probably my OCD! No, I don't really have OCD but sometimes I wonder:-)

Omaha Zoo- Papercraft Stars Challenge #3

Challenge #3 is up over at Papercraft Star! This week's challenge is a sketch and an awesome one at that, perfect for multiple pictures. A few weekends ago we took a weekend away to Omaha, jam packed full of fun. The weekend went by so fast but great memories were made! One of the things we got to do was take the kids to the zoo. Ross loves animals and so we knew this would be the highlight of his weekend. He ran from exhibit to exhibit, his excitement for life is captivating! We had a wonderful time. Ross left the zoo asleep on his daddy's shoulders, life is good.

Hello all! Hope you had a wonderful weekend! It was an extended holiday weekend here in the US and we got to enjoy a weekend full of fun, now back to the real world, darn. Sharing a mini album I made as a gift a while back for my sister in law. My brother and her have three boys that are very near and dear to me. They are three busy little boys though, t-ball, football, soccer, swimming, you name it they do it! I got to watch one of their t-ball games last summer and got some fun pictures that couldn't just sit on my hard drive so hence the book and the gift. Enjoy!

AWDML- July Manufacturer of the Month- Jillibean Soup!

Each month at A Walk Down Memory Lane, Lisa features a couple manufacturers, one paper & embellies and the other a stamp company (if you are a stamper, PLEASE check out her selection, I'm amazed when I pack orders what she has available!) During the month all products made by that manufacturer are 25% off! This month one of my favorite companies is a featured manufacturer, Jillibean Soup (Technique Tuesday is the stamp featured manufacturer which is awesome too!) I just love their products and find myself going back to them often. I made this star book (instructions here) for Lisa's CHA Winter '10 product display and thought I would feature it here today to get you all excited about JBS & AWDML! This little book was so easy to put together and I think it turned out just right.

Happy Birthday USA! The 4th of July is always a fun occasion for our family. We usually hit one or two of the local towns around us for fireworks and festivities. It is also my mother-in-law's birthday so that usually brings the family together as well. This week's challenge over at Papercraft Star is Red, White, and Blue-Americana in honor of this patriotic holiday. I just love the Kraft with the RW&B! I found this wonderfully fun sketch over at BackPorch Memories to help me finally get this picture of my little buddy scrapped. This little guy spent an afternoon picking all these lovely little "flowers" for his dearest mommy! He has the biggest heart for a little guy, he was soo proud! I have to admit I struggled with the thought of using a banner! Up until now I've boycotted them! I know they are all the rage right now, blah, blah, blah but I don't care for them, until now. Now I didn't use it like you've been seeing, I made my own version, more boyish maybe?

October Afternoon Cards in June- Part 5

Today brings us to our final 2 cards from O.A. in June. I hope you've enjoyed them all. I actually had my 10th card go M.I.A so I made a replacement, which almost didn't make the blog either. I was outside with my son photographing cards this morning. As I snapped my last picture he looked straight at me and sprayed everything wet with the garden hose, including my cards. I wanted to scream! At least I got the picture because the card no longer looks as nice, grrrr. Anyways here they are impromptu or not. Have a great Tuesday!
